Manipulation is the attempt, conscious or subconscious, to induce a feeling in another person that they ordinarily would not experience. This is often in an attempt to control (manipulate) the other person's behavior. The line between [[abuse]] and manipulation can be blurry. It seems like abuse is systematic, chronic manipulation, which may or may not be conscious or intentional.
