The notes in this folder are all works in progress. I am working with the garage door open here. Not all of these concepts are things I agree with. I'm writing these notes to engage with and develop ideas, not necessarily to believe them. This note cluster is my own personal knowledge base that I am building. I'm sharing it as I go as an invitation to engage with me (respectfully) on any of this material and in hopes that some of it is useful. The point of these notes is it takes engagement with ideas over time for them to be absorbed into long-term working memory. By creating and maintaining these notes the ideas here will become part of my long-term knowledge base. My tool for writing these notes is [Obsidian](https://obsidian.md/). This tool is extremely flexible and powerful and has changed the way I approach knowledge work. # Principles Here are my own principles for writing these Evergreen notes ### Evergreen notes are for concepts Note taking using evergreen notes means writing a single note for a single concept. Notes can be composed of other notes, just like concepts are composed of other concepts. As I read, watch YouTube, and listen to podcasts my understanding of these concepts will evolve and so will my notes. This way my knowledge and understanding accretes over time. A counter example is I will not have notes in here for things like "Summary of Thinking Fast And Slow". Instead I might make notes on various cognitive biases and update those as I learn more about them. ### Primary audience is myself I'm writing these notes primarily for my own benefit. I am the default audience, if they happen to be useful to others that's fine too :) ### Evergreen notes are works in progress These notes in the Evergreen section do not in any way constitute complete works on any of these concepts or even finished thoughts. In the spirit of Evergreen Notes this note will evolve as my own practice around them evolves. _The term Evergreen Note was coined by [Andy Matuschak](https://andymatuschak.org/)_
